Cub scouting requires a registration fee, paid to BSA national, that is currently $105 for new members. In addition, 2023-2024 annual dues for new scouts are $72 which covers Pack 380 program costs. 2023-2024 annual dues for scouts returning from the 2022-2023 program year are $240. This covers rechartering fees paid to BSA national + Pack 380 program costs.
Both new and returning scouts have the option to purchase an annual subscription to Scout Life magazine for $15. Fees collected for Pack 380 program costs cover items such as a scouting t-shirt, camping fees, advancement (e.g., belt loops, uniform patches, etc.), pinewood derby cars, rain gutter regatta materials, Blue and Gold Banquette, leader training, and the troop fund.
With respect to uniforms, the cub scout will wear the blue cub scout shirt between first and fourth grade. Some families opt to purchase an oversize shirt initially, anticipating the scout will grow into it, rather than purchasing a new shirt every year. Hats and neckerchiefs are also encouraged but will only be worn for one year. You can purchase a full uniform if you want, but we do not require it. We have many parents who are willing to “swap” or provide those items from their child to a rising youth to help defer the expenses.
Monetary assistance is available upon request for fees, dues and uniforms, to enable Cub Scouting to be available to all.
